This article will guide you why i prefer a branded mobile phone instead of china made or non popular brand.
I have Nokia C2-01. Some of you may think that how a person having a java based phone will assist us.
__ But i am going to tell you some interesting things that will tell you how a good algorithm-ed phone assist us in many ways. After studying a variety of phones i found some specialities and some hassle's .

so if a phone should be made , it should contain the following features:
  • Music is the basic need of us, so a phone will capable of playing music ,,if we put aside the sound quality or output of the phone than we have to talk about its experience like how its media player?, does it supports major file formats? etc.
  • I watched in some phones that the media player detects music drawn anywhere in the SD card or in inbuilt storage. you will say that it is a good feature but really it is?Some of you may have many ring tones that should not be listed into the media player list(library). to overcome this phone should have a feature that may add songs to music library present anywhere in SD card but it should ignore the folders named like Ring tone/Tones/Temp/Temporary etc. these folder exception may be provided default or may be customisable.
  • The most touching part of the phone is its User Interface and its Icons. i have more than 20 themes but i always use the default theme by nokia. because the icons provided by the themes i don't like , some of the larger sized themes slows down the phone. So in non popular brands like m-max, karbonn, spice  etc and in Chinese phones i never found the Icon and UI Elegance.
  • A phone will not bore you after a couple of months if it supports the application(more common Apps) and games.
for the java and multimedia phones(expects Android/ios/Blackberry devices) your phone must be capable of running these apps but firstly to support them. many cheap phones either does not support the application available on Internet like wap.in/ zedge/getjar etc. or they support only the applications with lower size and shows error for bigger sized applications.
most of china or non branded phones refuses to run many of jar files. and even in some branded phones like in samsung's cheap phones the larger sized app doesn't work(<300~400 kb).
  • If you have enough songs to play in media player it is necessary to find your favourite song in just 1-2 seconds. some of phones does not allow to search song in library i.e. suppose your song initials are JA then you have to browse through the library by continuous scrolling until the song initial does not match. that will going to take too much time, may be your mood of playing music will crash while scrolling
  • the phone RAM should be adequate to run applications i.e. when you use data based apps like your browser than if memory reaches its limit it may hang up your phone or crash the application.
  • the scrolling speed should be fast enough, i.e. if hold your navigation key than your phone should be fast enough to scroll without any lag independent of where you were scrolling(music library, menu, setting menu, contacts etc.)
  • If you are going to by a touch phone please buy a phone with capacitive display.(don't buy resistive)
read the article for phones screens - Touchsreens : Resistive & Capacitive
  • Also if you desired to buy a touch phone than i will recommend you to not to buy touch&type phones or the phones having screen less than 3 inch.
touchscreens gives good experience on big screens.
  • Never go to the quantity of music loudness it is totally noisy waste thing ... let i give you an example have you ever played songs in VLC media player, when you exceeds the volume <100 % than it starts introducing noise in the output and on peak volume(200%) it is too noisy and may result in faulty speakers.
so all we need is the quality of music often given good by branded phones , buy a good pair of earphone with buds and forget the world.
  • the one thing you all should know that a phones Camera's quality is Not a function of Mega pixels, it always depends upon the Sensor used in phone. So who buy phones by looking the phone's specs , i will tell them that, there is no method to find out the Camera quality by looking phone's specs sheet. To know about the camera quality, Method is either to take reviews from those who have already bought the phone or to check itself by testing on the Display phone.
  • In contacts section some phone offers the feature to add multiple numbers in a single contact(having default name tags like mobile/general/home/work etc) ,also birthday,email,address etc. etc.. But we cant rename these default name tags, so if we can rename them , think how cool it would be ,like some name tags : personal/temporary/mother/sister/airtel/temp-docomo etc etc. in a single contact.
Some phones already provide this feature but not all.
So here i told you few things about phones , that every reader of SimpleGeek should know.
Most of the things mention here are provided in branded phones and this aricle in not a brand campaign, all are personal experiences.
If you ever wanted to know, which phone to buy? Will this phone fulfil my needs? or any query please write in the comment Box.
